Does Anyone Know if Pit Bulls Point?
I've noticed at times when Arnie hears something when we're outside, he'll point. His right paw goes up and his tail goes straight out.
I didn't think PB's did this, but I'm still learning about the breed.
Does anyone know if this is a common thing for them to do?

Well i have a boxer pit mix and he does this ALL the time. I have never heard of a pit bull doing this but i never really knew too much about the breed. I thought it was just hunting dogs that really did that. But POrter does it too.

Is he a full breed pit? PB do have a stance but if he does a "point" he may have some bird dog in him, also if you have another dog in the house that was there prior to him coming home that is a pointer he may betaking on their personality and action as that dog would be the dominant one. Our PB does a stance-she more freezes-tail drops and ears go up but no pointing

He's probably a mix and is pointing due to whatever other breed he is mixed with.
I don't think I've ever heard of a pit pointing...it's generally the trait of a hunting dog.

I have two pit mixes and my Pit Terrier will point...she also "stalks" the other dogs...its very cute.

THey are not in the hunting category. THey are a hearing guard dog and very alert. Porter is boxer/pit. He has some traits of a boxer and some traits of a pit. Not sure where he gets the pointing from but thats what he does. He is very alert like a boxer and very protective like a boxer and a pit.

Arnold is extremely alert. His ears perk up, literally stand up at the littlest noise. He's always looking around and seeing something - then he points! It's funny and cute.

Pit is a dominant breed so if you mix it they usually tend to look more like a pit then the other part. Most likely he has a touch of bird dog in him-he is still fargin cute tho

I have one mixed pit and two pure bred, our little one is a blue pit and she points-the other two couldnt be bothered. The little one is the one who is the most outgoing, curious, and biggest trouble maker so that may have something to do with it.

Hmmm... so it is possible that he could be all pit and still point.
We're really not sure what he completely is as our pup came from a shelter but there's definitely pit in there as that's what he looks like the most.
BTW: Your pups are adorable!!!
