Does anyone know someone who lost their license over a medical condition
This is about a family member in Florida. There was a situation where there was a car accident and now they want drs to fill out reports to decide if they should keep their license. The person is almost 80, but in good health. Has anyone known anyone go through this?

Yes, two people. Doctors are mandated to report facts about health when asked. FM for more details.

Yes, any person with a known seizure disorder usually needs to do this in order to keep their license. They need to show they are controlled and haven't had an episode in a certain amount of time.

In my experience in NY we tried to do it for my Grandpa. He had Alzheimers and we were unable to get the car away. My Grandma took his side. It was god awful. We wrote the DMV to try and get it taken away. I can't remember if the dr got involved. I have a feeling it wasn't part of the DMV process. But, rather than listening to the family the DMV asked him to retake his road test and they freaking passed him!!!! It was horrible. The DMV doesn't support families in this regard.

Not families, but doctors they do. If a patients doctor writes the dmv and says the person is a danger to themselves and others they will suspend their license. Additionally, once you have a known issue, there are health forms you must complete before they will renew your license.

Yes, my DHs uncle who has epilepsy. Over time it has gotten worse, and after his 5th car accident, his doctor stated he had to give up his license.
