Friend lost Driver's License--Honeymoon :(
My friends are going on their honeymoon in 2 weeks and the groom lost his license and can't go on their cruise without it.
Does anyone know if the DMV can expedite an ID for him so he can go?

Oh boy. It looks like it takes 2 weeks to receive after processing but it doesn't say how long it takes to process. I'd have him get down to the DMV in person ASAP.

yes he should be able to get it expidited. tell him to call today.
I had to do this when i lost my license a couple weeks before i left for a trip.

He went down there today. He can't get a new passport in time as he would have to go into the city and the next available day is the day of the wedding.
I don't have a clue what he is going to do now.

I think on 34th Street in Herald Sq. they have an expedited DMV for lost licenses. I've never used it but worth looking into.

Did he try rush passport? 212-643-9305, it's 875 6th ave
Worked for us this past fall

I think he'd have to go to the DMV first and get a temporary ID.
I know if he doesn't have enough ID, he can have someone go with him and sign an affidavit saying he is who he says he is. They'll need to show photo ID.
I have to say the Passport agency is pretty good about rushing passports.

thats not true at least whe i did it last year i paid an exta 20 or 30 to get it rushed

I thought they could do it too. I am going to keep bugging him about this as I would feel horrible if they weren't able to go.

Isn't there a place where you can get your passport the same day? Now, he may have to wait around all day to get it processed but I'm pretty sure it can be done.

O.kay. He said he has an appointment next week in CT so hopefully that will solve everything.

You can go in person without an appt to the place downtown NYC with proof of travel in the next 2 weeks, just get there super early like 6 am to get online. They open at 7 or 8 am. I did this last summer and It worked. Check out the NYC passport place on help, it has all the info on there in the reviews.

They sure do, but get their super early because the line goes down the block every single morning!

he can his license within 3-4 days- for the passport you can make an appt at the expedited office and have it same day if you show you are traveling within 2 weeks- a friend we were traveling with just did it.
