Does anyone not have a window in front of their kitchen sink?

My sink is facing a wall with no window. right now I have a short cabinet above the sink but would like to replace it with a regular size cabinet. Would you rather be lookng at a cabinet or a wall? Anyone have pics of their kitchen?

I have a regular size cabinet above my sink. I love it for storage - just make sure you have enough clearance to use your sink for the big stuff (large pots, pans, etc.)

Re: Does anyone not have a window in front of their kitchen sink?

Before I re-did my kitchen I had a cabinet and no window over my sink. Since I re-did it have a window.
However, the thing about having a cabinet and not just a blank wall is lighting. It was SOO dark with the cabinet. So, if you do a cabinet try and put some lighting under it, KWIM?

I don't have a window above my sink - just cabinets. I do have a large, 6-ft window in my kitchen which overlooks my back deck, but the window is on the back wall and the sink it on the side wall. I actually have no complaints, I definitely need the cabinet space in my kitchen.

I have cabinets over my sink, i dont mind it at all. My mom and MIL both have windows in front, but to me it's not really a big deal.

I have a smaller cabinet above the sink. I prefer it to the full size ones because the full size cabinet would definitely be "in my way" as I do dishes. I have a very deep D-sink, though, if that makes a difference. I have to lean over the sink to do dishes (and I am not very tall).

My parents don't have a window & they have a shotter cabinet, with a light under it.

My sink is in the corner so I have a corner cabinet above it.

I have a small (half as tall) cabinet with glass doors where I keep my cookbooks. There is a little shelf under that where I have decorative tea cups. My mom always had a window and really wanted it that way, but I'm OK with the shelf.

Re: Does anyone not have a window in front of their kitchen sink?

When we lived in the apartment we didn't have windows, we had regular cabinets above our sink....I found it incredibly annoying. Almost everything i had to wash hit the cabinets. When we were looking around at houses this was something on my list, the kitchen sink needed to be in front of a window or at least have smaller cabinets above it! It's just a pet peeve of mine. But if I had to pick wall or cabinets, i'd pick wall i feel like there would be less interference.

Re: Does anyone not have a window in front of their kitchen sink?

I have a full size (42 inch) cabinet over my sink. I have never had any issues with it, never even gave it much thought.

I have under cabinet lighting but rarely use it and have never found it to be "dark" using just my high hats.

ETA: Not sure if I have more space than some pp but I have never hit anything on my cabinets, even when I wash baking pans or cookie sheets etc...

No window, just cabinets above. But they aren't directly above... like 18 inches up. I have a little piece of art hanging in the empty space but I'm thinking about buying a little ledge to put there with some photos/knick knacks.
