Re: Kitchen Window Treatments
I have sheers and panels on our sliders.
Tiered floral country curtains over the sink window.
We don't have any window treatments in our dining area - just the paper shades for now. It's actually in our dining room but the kitchen is open. We won't do anything there until we get a dining room set but we'll probably get the blinds that open from the top and bottom along with panels.

Re: Kitchen Window Treatments
I have a sliding door off my LR right near a double window. I put panels up on the sliding door and they are cream with a dark brown stripe. I figured the window was too close to the slider to do a matchy match panel, so i did dark wood blinds, came out great. I did roman shades in the kitchen. I dont think all windows in a space need to be exactly the same. I would do panels and matching roman shades (PB has great ones) or even panels and scarf, pulling a color from the panel for the roman shade/blind/scarf...etc.

Re: Kitchen Window Treatments
I have a valance with just a regular shade underneath right now. It works for us.
Our DR is open to the kitchen and there are sliders in there. We have a panel system that slides across. We bought them at JCPenny.
As for your windows by the eating area, I would put sheers to hind the windows a little and you could do bamboo roman shades. The shades would be for your privacy and the sheers could just hang on each side of the window. HTH!

Re: Kitchen Window Treatments
Or you could do shutters if you don't want to see the windows.
You could do this kind of window treatment too. Top Down/Bottom Up Roman Shade.
Also check out this great blog about Curtains. These Youngsters (Sherry & John) have some great ideas. This Young House.com You could do something like this for the three windows. Having the sheers on the ends. Depending on how the windows are in the eating area.

Re: Kitchen Window Treatments
Rach, those are the panels that I was talking about...you should totally do those... For the kitchen I would do the pleated shade with a curtain on the top like in my kitchen. For the other windows you could do the same...pleated shade with curtain on top.
