Does anyone not have tile on the bathroom walls
If so, can you post pictures pls?
We have a very large main bathroom, and I am still debating whether I want to go half way up with tile. We would definitely put tile in the tub area, just not sure if I want it around the vanity/toilet area.

Re: Does anyone not have tile on the bathroom walls
I don't have pics, but our main bathroom only has tile on the walls in the tub/shower, we have sheetrock on the rest of the walls.
Before we redid the bathroom it was ALL slick black tile, walls and ceiling. So I went the complete opposite b/c I hated it so much.

Re: Does anyone not have tile on the bathroom walls
We have no tile on any walls in our bathrooms. The shower has a plastic liner that goes up the wall about 7 feet. After that, the wall is just painted the same color as that of the bathroom.

Re: Does anyone not have tile on the bathroom walls
Both of our upstairs bathrooms only have tile in the tub area. None on the rest of the walls. It makes it much easier to repaint the room, and give it a new, fresh look.

Re: Does anyone not have tile on the bathroom walls
I am dying to redo my downstairs bathroom. And this is my idea to try and save some money. I just want to tile the floor and shower. I will paint the rest of the walls.

Re: Does anyone not have tile on the bathroom walls
Our bathroom is small so I thought the tiles would make it feel claustrophobic. A friend suggested wainscoting which i LOVE but again, I thought the room was too small. So we just painted and put up molding like in the rest of the house. Image Attachment(s):

Re: Does anyone not have tile on the bathroom walls
I have tile all over in my downstairs bathroom and actually hate it. I would rather more wall, I am also limited on fixtures or pictures I can hang. If I redo my bathroom I would want to tile half way up.

Re: Does anyone not have tile on the bathroom walls
I have wainscoting & paint in both bathrooms. There is tiel on the windowsill though.
They were like that when I moved in & I haven't done anything with them yet. (I didn't chose the lovely shade of glossy swamp green for teh 1/2 bath.)
I like the look, but the wainscoting is in bad shape in some spots. DH wants to tile, if we redo them but we would only go halfway up, and then paint.
ETA-My parents also have small bathrooms & also don't have tile. They always had wallpaper & just recently took down the wallpaper in one bathoorm & painted & it looks great. Image Attachment(s):

My mom has tile and she hates it that is why I'm thinking of just painting it. I think it gives it a clean look.
THANKS EVERYONE!

Sort of. In person, it looks like the previous owner mixed all the leftover paint together & the high gloss finish just makes it look all wet & swampy. Eventually I want to paint it gray. The floor tile is beige with gray grout & a gray accents in the tile.

Re: Does anyone not have tile on the bathroom walls
I'm personally not a wall tile fan. One of my bathrooms is wainscotting w/ wallapaper, one has all wallpaper and the other is painted.

Re: Does anyone not have tile on the bathroom walls
In both our master & hallway bathrooms, we do have the tiles on the walls & in the shower. I am not a fan of it, but the house was just redone by a contractor when we bought it. Eventually I will change it over. (Pictures in my album)
In our 1/2 bath downstairs, we have tile halfway up the wall & then we are going to repaint the top portion. This I like a lot better!

Re: Does anyone not have tile on the bathroom walls
I have a small bathroom with no tile and sometimes it feels plain.
I don't know how I feel about a large bathroom without tile or at least wainscoting. I would prefer wainscoting to just plain walls at least.

Re: Does anyone not have tile on the bathroom walls
Our bathrooms had no tile on the walls, I love it! So much easier to take care of and for me, i don't like the look of tiles on the walls outside the shower. Looks more clean and crisp to me.
