Re: Does anyone not particularly care

Up until about a month before me wedding.. I think I have exhaused my brain. It totally got to the point where I got sick at the mere thought of "wedding" or anything wedding related. I compare my last few months leading up to the big day to one of those songs they play on the radio over & over again. You get to the point where they play the song out so much, you just want to bash your fist into the car stereo. Thats exactly how I felt- and how I still feel. I dissected every aspect of my wedding so much, theres just nothing left to think about. Would of could have.. SHOULD have.. whateverChat Icon Thank god its over.

My wedding day was my dream come true. I enjoyed every minute of it. However.. its over. FINITO!! Now all I have are wonderful memories to cherish. .... NEXT!

Re: Does anyone not particularly care

I am definitely "over" it ,but I had a blast planning and loved every second of it. I like to reminisce about it, but I don't remember every detail anymore.

Re: Does anyone not particularly care

I haven't even been married a year so many "specific" details are still in my head. I'm also still working on my album and video so I haven't even tied up the loose ends yet.

What sticks out in my mind the most are the wonderful memories from that day and the great time that DH and I had. We have moved on to so many other things but I will never forget our day.

I'm definitely over the wedding planning aspect but I can't wait to see my video either!

Re: Does anyone not particularly care

me...I hated wedding planning! I was so stressed, mainly b/c my Dh moved into our house in NC and I stayed in NY, so it was hard not having him there for support!
So glad I never have to do that again!

Instead I bask in my friends wedding planning glory! luv ya Megs!

maybe I am the wedding Scrooge

eta: this was fleshed out through other posts...and perhaps better explains what I mean

"oh no, of course the memories are great...but all whole "what was your this" or "who was your that"

I think I am just done dissecting the day. I did it during the planning...and now that is done and I truly had a BLAST, I just want to remember that.

in a lovely FUN FILLED glazed over haze...that my wedding was AWESOME. nuff said."

you can't be the wedding Scrooge my dear, because I was! I wasn't all that into the planning before hand. We loved our day, had a great time and I wouldn't trade my memories of the day for anything. But, I was over the wedding pretty quickly, somewhere through my 20th glass of vino in Rome, I didn't give a rats azz about that day anymore! Chat Icon

Re: Does anyone not particularly care

Totally - my wedding wasn't mine. It was my family's, unfortunately - so there were some details that were meaningful to me, the rest I dont ever have to think about again....

Re: Does anyone not particularly care

We got married last June shortly after buying our house and than I found out I was pregnant in July. We have been focused on so many other things like our house and the baby we havent even picked the pictures for our wedding album or worked on our wedding video. I am slowly putting wedding pictures up around our house but stopped b/c I would rather put up pictures of the baby once he comes.

I am finished with analyzing the day but I still get so happy when people bring up the subject of my wedding and tell me what a great time they had.

Re: Does anyone not particularly care

I would not want to plan my wedding all over again but I enjoyed it while I was doing it. I have become more reminiscent of it lately as I am approaching my 1 year anniversary on Saturday.

I do remember a lot of the details as I did pay attention to them while planning. I love looking at my pictures & watching my video. With that said, I am ready to move on to the next adventure. I am more then fortunate to have married my husband & have an amazing journey ahead of us. It is nice to look back though & remember that day that is so special & began our new life together!

Re: Does anyone not particularly care

I loved my day-thought the wedding was amazing.

But...getting pregnant 3 months after it definitely made it recess into the back of my brain, lol.

I don't mind wedding talk, but I just can't remember half the stuff and don't care to relive the planning. It was stressful, half of it prob unnecessary and I have to be honest...when I go on liweddings and read some posts my stomach turns a little. Sometimes I want to yell "just relax, there are better and bigger things coming to worry about!!". I might be wording my thoughts wrong, but I like my memories and pictures. It seems like it happened years ago as opposed to a year and a half!

Re: Does anyone not particularly care

Surprisingly I agree with you! And I was very into wedding planning and I am pretty sentimental. While it was one of the best days of my life and I actually loved every moment of it, life goes on and there are more things in life then how much I loved this one vendor over the next vendor.

Edited to add: my sister is getting married in July and I am happy to help her with her plans (and I have been involved in all details), but even with that I haven't totally dived in head first. I am excited for her day, but don't need to feel like I need to relive mine through her.
