Any non-organic food has pesticides. (unless is it labelled as pesticide-free). Gerber makes certified organic baby food as well as conventional.

I chose to make my own baby food for this reason. I like knowing exactly what I put into DS's body by picking up organic fruits/veggies myself! Also, many foods work out cheaper when you make it yourself. I made 18 2-oz containers out of a single butternut squash!

I usually only buy the Gerber Organic. On occassion, I've picked up the regular ones, but I try to buy strictly organic.
Gerber has been in business since the 1920's or so. I'm pretty confident that their products are safe. JMO
