does anyone NOT want to reveal the baby's name?
I am getting soooooooooooo much crap for not telling. I don't know why I don't want to. Afraid of jinxing and afraid of annnny possible negative reaction. If someone says something neg I might kill or cry or both! Lol. U?

Not planning on telling many people the possible names before the baby's born. I like the idea of revealing the name (& gender, in our case) after I give birth.

I don't say I won't tell, I just say we haven't decided yet. My family would probably annoy the hel l out of me of they knew I knew and didnt say

Everyone's asks and we say it's a secret, or you'll find out in February. It's nobody's business and I really don't want anyone's opinions. Plus, we're al about the surprises.
And yes, some people are mad but oh well, they'll get over it.

Oh we won't be telling anyone the name we choose or even the names we are considering. I would be swayed if people said negative things and don't want to go through that. My mom was upset with me for not sharing our name options when I was pregnant with my DS, but not like angry. Just annoyed. But she got over it :)

This is what we do as well. The only person I told was my nurse in l&d.

I don't always tell people. I got alot of comments when I had DS, and I just don't feel like hearing it. I have told a few people who I know won't judge. The rest will wait till he is born to learn the name.

We did not tell the boys' names until they were born and plan to do the same this time. It's just easier. I really don't care if people are insulted. I'd rather they be insulted than piss me off by criticizing the names we picked.

We are pretty much 100% decided on our LO's name but we've only told a handful of people. Everyone else we just say we don't know yet and we give the list of names we're choosing from if they ask. Even my parents don't know and luckily they haven't bugged me about it yet

We were 99% sure what we were going to name our DD but we did not tell anyone. I just told them we weren't 100% and it might change. I didn't get any grief about it.
This time, I'm currently 24 weeks, we have no idea of the name for our DS, but once we do we won't tell again.

we dont tell either. everyone knows the gender and I think that is enough. I feel (1) everyone has an opinion and when the baby is here their opinions are "softened" if expressed at all. (2) I dont want to name DS until I actually meet him.
With my first DS, we had 2 names picked. When he was FIRST delivered I said "oh his name is John". When I finally saw him (i was in recovery and DH showed me pics), I said "Oh no... He is Joseph. He isn't John. Tell everyone he is joseph." LMAO. Everytime someone visited I must of said his name about 1000xs. He just felt more like a Joseph to me.

When we announced it to our families we told them some names we liked and right away I regretted it. My MIL started offering up name ideas and putting down names we picked, I turned to her at one point and said, "What ever the baby is named, all that matters is that we are happy w/it b/c it's only our opinion that matters." That shut her up really fast. Moving forward, we will just be telling ppl that we dont know yet.

DH and I told our parents and sil/bil but swore them to secrecy.
I also do not want to get negative feedback because we finally chose a name that DH and I agree on.
Before finding out the sex, I ran a few boys names across my friends and got such mixed reviews that it confused me and I don't need that
eta: I've been telling people who ask that we aren't decided yet and will even throw out a few that we are "considering" but it's not the name we chose

We shared names willingly with our first pregnancy and everyone was supportive of the names that we chose (which were Emily Elizabeth and Jonathan William -- we ended up having a girl)
We have shared our names with *some* people this pregnancy and and we get mixed reviews. Most people LOVE our girl name which is Riley Grace, except for my FIL but I think he doesn't like it because it isn't a typical girl name. A lot of people cringe when we tell them our boy name ... Benjamin Joseph --- they don't like that the initials would be BJ...and I definatley don't want anyone calling my kid BJ EVER...but we will never start that. We have 4 years before the kid goes to school and we will call him Ben for short, and hopefully noone will ever go for the BJ nickname ever!
Honestly these are the names we like. I kinda wish we hadn't shared since people give us faces when we say our boy name...but then again...when you tell me your kids' names, I don't always agree with them either. We are each entitled to our own choices!

Im not going to tell anyone when we find out what the sex is... We've already started discussing possibilities for both boy or girl, but we decided to keep it between us.
Ive already had people telling me names THEY like and DONT like!!! LOL If I were to tell anyone and they made a comment I would want to punch them in the face LOL
So they will find out when the baby is officially named...

We didn't tell anyone DD's name, but we went in with 2 names an decided after she was born.
This time we aren't telling either. I am getting it from my parents, they keep telling us that people are asking them. Too bad, so sad! They already know it's a  I want there to be one surprise when this kid is born!
We make up names. Over Christmas we pushed Hammish and Angus. They weren't buying it...

We did not reveal the names. I hate getting peoples opinions especially if they are negative. We just told everyone we are between a few names and weren't decided. People backed off.
