Re: Does anyone put a blanket on DC at night

Nope. DD kicks all night long and wouldn't keep it on.

We use a sleep sak with legs instead and I put socks on her to keep her feet warm underneath her PJs.

At 16.5 months, DD still doesn't use a blanket. It's not even the paranoid-factor at this age for me (surprisingly, since I tend to be a little paranoid Chat Icon ), it's more that I don't think she'd keep it on at night and I'd worry about her being cold b/c her room is the coldest room in the house.

She sleeps in fleece footed-PJs and a fleece Sleepsack.

same here - except it is also for the paranoid factor along with the other reasons she listed! Chat Icon

Re: Does anyone put a blanket on DC at night

we didn't give my DD a blanket until she was in a twin bed at 17 months old.

They have sleep sacks for safety and warmth. I don't see a reason to risk your child's life if they have something safe to use (just my opinion).

After I lost my son I was in a few groups of other parents that lost children. I met a few moms that had a child die because of blankets. Its just not a risk I am willing to make.

I hope you don't mind me asking but do you happen to remember the ages of the children - I didn't know when we could stop worrying about this?

You know I am soo soo paranoid and I really was unsure when I would ever put a blanket on him - I know no time in the near future.

the babies I can remember were all under 1. The one that I remember most was my sons at (4 1/2 months old). It was 3 years ago so I can't remember what the other 2 were but I do remember them still being 'babies'(which to me is under 1).

I won't give her a blanket. It scares me too much. I just purchased some sleep sacks with the feet cut out.

Re: Does anyone put a blanket on DC at night

We've had him sleep with a blanket since he moved to his crib from the bassinet so at about 4 mos or so. Prior to that he was either in a blanket sleeper or swaddled. He is 17 mos now.

Re: Does anyone put a blanket on DC at night

DS was swaddled with a rec blanket until 7 months, but he would break out every night so he has slept with a blanket since birth really. Now at 11 months I put him to sleep and then go check on him when I go to bed, that is when I put a blanket on him.

Re: Does anyone put a blanket on DC at night

No, it would be a waste. DS uses every inch of his crib at night. Sometimes I find him facing the opposite direction of how I laid him down. So putting a blanket on him would not make sense. He has a fleece sleep sak that he is in.

My DD is 25 months and we just started putting a blanket on her. Last winter, she was in the sleep sack with feet holes.

DS is 7 months, and I still won't put a blanket on him at night. I let him sleep with a onesie and a sleep sack because I'm too afraid. He moves around in his sleep a lot and hates to be swaddled.

Re: Does anyone put a blanket on DC at night

I tried to one night when it felt a bit chilly in the bedroom. About an hour or so later when I went to check on her - she had THROWN it half way across the room Chat Icon

DD is a very active sleeper so it may have annoyed her more than given her some warmth.

Yes. Both my kids have had blankets from day 1. My DD is 2-1/2 and she sleeps with 3!! Even with that many, she still doesn't stay covered!

I do, he is so strong and the blanket is not big enough for it to get wrapped around him. I've been doing it since he is 1 y/o.
