Re: Does anyone still write letters?

I wrote a letter last night., my mom has also been writing me from Florida.

I don't think I've ever not sent a thank you note. Since I could write, my mother made me write my own and I never stopped.

I write to my cousin in Ireland as she doesn't have a computer.

We started writing to each other 20 years ago and wrote epic long letters thorughout our teens. Ten years ago I visited her and we stayed up late one night re-reading the letters from our teen years and Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon until the sun came up.

I also have a few letters my grandmother wrote to her sisters in Ireland in the 1930's. It's so great to have time preserved that way. Sorry but e-mail is just not the same for that. It's faster and more convenient but it doesn't hold the memories.

Yes, my husband and I write to each while he is away. They are nice to have to re read for when letters don't come through and your sad. Also I think it will be neat some day to show my child or grandchild our letters.
