does anyone take childrens vitamins instead of prenatals?
i heave heard you can take childrens vitamins...chewables....flintstone gummies etc instead of prenatals.
does anyone do this? what od you take? how many do you take a day?
i have prescription prenatals but they are so big and i hate swallowing them. i would rather take the gummies but dont know if they are sufficient

I take regular Flintstone vitamins. They were ok'd by my ob/gyn. I take one in the moring and one at night.

I took a regular adult multivitamin. My ob/gyn says you don't need to switch to a prenatals right away.

I used to take one Flinstones chewables with a folic acid pill.

I have a lot of trouble swallowing pills so I was originally taking the gummi flintstones and folic acid...but I noticed that the gummis don't have iron in them so I got my doc to prescribe me chewable prenatals

When my SIL was pregnant with my niece her doctor told her to take Flinestones because she couldnt' find a pre-natal that didn't make her vomit.

haha! I never knew this was even an option.
I started off taking drug store prenatals. Then when I got pregnant the doctor prescribed me the duet heart ones. I've been taking that ever since.

They taste so good! Like candy! The only thing I dont love about them is that they are coated in sugar.. just like candy. Its too much for me in the morning so I take them in the afternoon. but other then that they are great!

ok so i bought the gummy ones but they dont seem to have as much of each vitamin per one pill as my other ones did. i guess i should take 2?
and since it had no iron i bought the flintstones chewables with iron.
can you overdo vitamins? like 2 gummies and one chewable may be too much?

I'm taking the flinestone chewables. I can't see to stomach anything with iron in it and I'm not even preggo yet. I'm going to look for the prenatal chews next time.

I read in one of my pegnancy books that you can overdo it when it comes to vitamins...you should check with a dr before doubling up.
With the vitamins that include iron you should definately take it after a meal -that might be why its affecting your tummy
