Re: Does DH help in the morning?

DH is out the door between 6 and 7am so he does not help. If it is a day that he leaves late (7am), he may change DS's diaper. I get morning duty everyday.

On the weekends, DH lets me sleep in. He often has to round on patients but he will let me sleep in before he goes. He will take the kids downstairs and make them breakfast. That extra 1-2 hours is heavenly.

Re: Does DH help in the morning?

Mornings in our house are mainly my job.
I have no commute to work, I work 5 minutes away, Dh takes a bus to a train and it takes over an hour, so bc of this I get DS ready in the morning and I drop him off at my moms.

Re: Does DH help in the morning?

He is out the door at 6am, so no. BUT he helps the minute he gets in from work (430pm) and he wakes up with the kids on weekends and does SO much. I feel very lucky!

Does DH help in the morning?

Only if I ask, but I don't mind. When I worked (from when DD was 6 months until last June, when she was just 5) DH did all the morning duties because I left at 5:45. Now I work from home so while I'm ready when she's ready, there's less pressure because I can always do makeup, etc. after she's on the bus.

Re: Does DH help in the morning?

Yes!! He is awesome. He wakes up with db at 6:30 EVERY morning (including weekends) so I can sleep until 7:15 on weekdays, and usually 8-8:30 on weekends. He has always been an early riser, and I've always been a HORRIBLE morning person - so we complement each other.

Once I wake up though - it is usually me doing most of the work with db. That is fine by me - I get an extra 45 minutes of sleep!!!

Re: Does DH help in the morning?

I wouldn't mind doing it all if DH had o get up and out early. What bothers me is I wake up at 6:45 to get DS ready for school, DH gets up at 7:15-7:45 and only worries about himself.Chat Icon

Re: Does DH help in the morning?

Dh is a big help in every other way except mornings on a work day. We both leave at 720. I get up at 6 and get myself ready and get kids whenever they wake up or wake them at 7. Dh gets up at 7 or 710 and gets himself ready and usually has about 3 minutes to spare and helps me with shoes, jackets and out to car. He did step it up when I was pregnant though.
On weekends we take turns sleeping in.
Since the new baby has been here he has gotten up with the twins every am though and let me sleep in or nurse the baby in peace.

Re: Does DH help in the morning?

He leaves for work after me. So yes, he helps. He helps dress one of the kids and helps me to the car. I prepare the diaper bag, feed the kids and make the bottles for the day.

Does DH help in the morning?

DH is out of the house by 6 am on the days he works, DD doesn't wake up until about 7an. So I get up with her each morning.

The mornings that he is off he will give me a little break and wake up with her when she gets up.

Does DH help in the morning?

We just set up out schedule. Weekday mornings will be all me. Dh is out the door by 5am while my train doesn't come till 650. He will do all pick-ups from daycare since he gets home 2hrs before I do. Mornings on the weekends will be all him. I like to sleep till 8 while he is always up by 6am bc he can't sleep. We will see if it works.

I stay at home now, and I do th mornings, he is out of the house by 5:45. I wouldn't even think of him helping on the weekdays when he has work. He does help a bit ont he weekend, once in a blue I will try to sleep a little later, but my kids get up late (thank goodness!) so I usually do weekend mornings too.

Does DH help in the morning?

Mornings are all me, and evenings are all me. He wakes up before me, and gets ready. I start to wake up and get myself ready, DD and DS ready while he sits and watches the news. I will ask for help occassionaly but he rolls his eyes which drives me nuts. I get the bags ready the night before so its a matter of getting everyone in their carseats and off we go.

Re: Does DH help in the morning?

He does.

We have an infant. Typically he'll go in and get her when she wakes, take her downstairs and play with her, eat his breakfast, maybe wash some bottles. Then he brings her to me in bed, I feed her and get myself ready for work and her ready for daycare.

If he didn't help, I'd be a beast. I'd probably suck it up and get myself into a routine though.

I have to bring dd to work with me in the morns so weekdays are my responsibility. DH takes over weekend morns. It works our just fine... He is a very hands on dad as well and does a lot for her when he's home.

Re: Does DH help in the morning?

Yet another reminder of how much I lucked out in the Husband department.

I'm a SAHM and my husband completely handles the early mornings with the kids... changes them, gets them up, feeds them breakfast (typically i prep this the night before but he's been known to scramble an egg or two), and then I get up, hop in the shower and take over so he can get out the door for work. I'm pretty damn lucky and it works well for us, though it did take a bit of an adjustment period as their schedules change.

During the week, I dress dd and brush her hair. He cooks breakfast, assist with brushing her teeth and drops her off at preschool. He goes to work in the afternoon and I have to be at work at 8. During the weekend, i cook breakfast
