He will help as much as he can, I'm a SAHM. So I just rock the mornings! Bing bam boom! Dh out the door...dd out the door...baby goes in for nap..then I have my rest time.
You always make it look so easy!
It will get easier i promise!! In my situation, It's become so routine. I thrive on routine. I don't even leave the house during Caitlin's nap times because it messes up everything. Breakfast is cooked for everyone in this house at 7 am. Dependingbon the morning..it could be pancakes or a buttered roll..Lunches are made and bagged after the baby's bottle andquick!! II put caitlinin for her nap at 8, dh leaves and I play and dress Mimi then bus comes at 830. I drink my coffee and watch news and prep meals for Caitlin. It's all timed By the minute lol. I'm so lost if I depend on others to do anything, I'm lost if I'm not prepared. It's so much work but knowing What to expect makes everyone's lives easier....oh and I'm the nap and bed time queen!! I don't mess around!!

Re: Does DH help in the morning?
my husband is on rotating shifts. When he works afternoons, i get up in the morning to let him sleep in a little bit more. Not a ton because i have to be at work at 8am. But i at least let him sleep another hour, get ds#2 dressed and both kids are fed breakfast. When he's off, we rotate who gets to sleep in and who gets up with the kids. When he's on midnights or dayshifts (he leaves at 6:30am), i get up at 6am to get in the shower and get the boys ready.
My husband is being switched to days now. He has to be at work at 8:30am. So now we both get up at 6:30am when our sons do. 1 gets into the shower right away while the other gets the our youngest dressed, bags packed and possibly lunches made. Then we switch. That person makes sure my oldest gets dressed, teeth is brushed, nothing is missing from the bags, all shoes and jackets on, etc. Then i take my oldest to work with me to then drop him off at school later and my husband takes our youngest to the sitter.

Re: Does DH help in the morning?
My DH leaves before the kids get up, so its all on me, but honestly, we do better in the morning if I am the only one home. Sometimes when he is home, its like he puts a kink in the works and nothing runs as smoothly as when its just us following our routine.

Re: Does DH help in the morning?
yes he helps. we both have to be work at 8 only difference is that i have to drive and do drop off at daycare DH calls in from home and then goes to where the job is. I get up at 6 to start get myself ready i wake DH now (it was ealrier when she was younger) around 6:45 to get DD up and ready while i finish bringing everything for the day i need to the car prep her breakfast etc. on the weekends we alternate or at this point we just both get up.
ETA: if DH had a choice i would say most of the time he rather me get her ready and then just wake him to say good bye to her or let her just lay in bed with him after i got her ready till we leave but he doesnt have a choice

Re: Does DH help in the morning?
Days I work he has no choice I leave before they get up and that is 3 days a week. The other 2 week days I take care of them so he can get to work. On the weekends he usually keeps in a little but that is partially because they only want me and won't let him do anything for them anyway

Re: Does DH help in the morning?
My DH is out of the house at 430am 5 days a wk so im left alone to get both kids up, fed, and dressed by 8:15. On his days off i let him sleep cause i see how tired he is from getting up so early on work days. Im so used to doing it all that it doesnt really phase me. However if my DH worked a regular 9-5 job i would expect him to be more helpful.

Does DH help in the morning?
When I was working-- DH always got up and got ready and left for work a couple of hours before did, so beside the occasional diaper change and bottle warming, I always took care of DD in the morning. Now that Im home, its pretty much the same thing. Weekends, we tried to work it out so that we each got one weekend day to sleep in but DH is not a sleep inner-- but he does usually let me sleep in one day -- and he takes care of her for an hour or two while I get to sleep in. BUt then I take her out for a few hrs and he gets his alone time. Im also not a morning person at all.

Re: Does DH help in the morning?
DS is only 10 months - but DH pretty much ALWAYS helps in the morning. I'm a SAHM so i like the break, and DH works late so i think he enjoys the daddy-son time. I give him a break if ever asks or i volunteer 1-2 times a week.

Re: Does DH help in the morning?
No, never. He is either gone before the kids wake or rushing to get out the door while I am getting them ready. He does help sometimes on the weekends...

Re: Does DH help in the morning?
Yes, DH gets up with the youngest, every single morning. It works for us though, he is a morning person and I am SO not. He gets up and gets the youngest DC off to daycare and I get the older DC up and off to school after he leaves.
It works for us though, like I said, he gets ups with the first riser EVERY morning. However, he does not do night wakings and I do bath/bedtime.

Re: Does DH help in the morning?
Monday - Thursday DH leaves for work just as DS and I are getting up so the mornings are all on me. DH is off on Fridays though so he will get up with DS.
DH does bath/bedtime almost EVERY night while I clean up and get ready for the next day, so I don't complain about the mornings.

Re: Does DH help in the morning?
Depends on the morning. If he's working that day, he's out the door before either of us wake up. If he's off and I'm going to work, he does everything. If we're both off, I do most stuff since he's the primary caregiver most of the time.

Does DH help in the morning?
Only on the weekends. During the week he's usually leaving when the kids are waking up.

Re: Does DH help in the morning?
Nope, not in the morning. I am up getting them dressed and out to the bus by 7:15 while he snoozes away. He conveniently gets up to get ready for work once the bus pulls away.

Re: Does DH help in the morning?
dh leaves like an hour before I do... both in the morning... So I get them out. Then dh gets out earlier so he picks them up....... I will ask him for help only if I'm really struggling..
if he has a day off then he takes care of them.
we split weekend each get 1 day to sleep later

Re: Does DH help in the morning?
If DH does not help me get the girls ready for daycare in the morning I get super pissy. So he helps most mornings to avoid the wrath of Alisha.

Re: Does DH help in the morning?
Right now he doesn't help during the week because I'm on maternity leave so I'm home. Normally when we're both working (we both leave at 6:45) he helps a little bit. Usually I get DD up and dressed. He gets her coat and shoes on and will put her in the car while I am getting all of our bags together and in the car. Not sure exactly how it will work with 2 kids when I go back to work, but I'm sure he will help.

Re: Does DH help in the morning?
I am very lucky. Dh is fdny so when he is off he gets up with ds & lets me sleep. He is a morning person & knows that I am not. If he is very tired then I will get up. If he is on vacation then we take turns getting up with ds.
