Does everyone tip garbage/mail people?
I don't ever see any of them. The garbage is picked up when we're not home, same for mail delivery.
The few times I have seen the mail delivered, it always seems to be a different person.
Neither has ever gone above and beyond IMO.
In fact I love when paper recycling day comes and there is garbage all over my lawn. We don't even have that much garbage, we usually only put it out once a week.

Yep, left it this morning.
Mailman's I left in the mailbox for him to take.
And the garbage men........I left out today in a big yellow envelope taped to some sheetrock pieces we cut and bundled up for pick up. We always have tons of garbage between regular and cardboard stuff.......and they always take everything so IMO they deserve a tip. They work hard when it comes to our house.....

We always tip the garbagemen. I don't think my husband has tipped the mailman though. I'll have to check with him.

We tipped this year. Both of us work at a catering facility and we appreciate it when people give us tips so we figured we'd do the same in return!

We tipped them both last year. Tipping the mailman was always a normal thing for me, tipping the garbagemen was new. But we decided to tip the garbagemen because we were doing a lot work on our house & throwing out tons of junk.
This year we're definitely tipping the mailman tomorrow, not sure about the garbagemen.

I gave the mailman $20 in a card. DH usually takes care of the garbagemen if he sees them.

everyone is tipped including the cleaning lady and the dry cleaner.
I find that I get really good service overall if I do this every year.
I always have a ton of garbage, my mail is always rubberbanded together, my cleaning lady will switch a day for me on a day's notice sometimes and my dry cleaner can have something done for me in a few hrs if I ask.
It pays.
