Does it irk you when someone tags a photo of you on Facebook...
.. and doesn't ask you.
Had a fun weekend with friends that involved sweatpants, beers, no makeup and pounding of food. My friend posts them on facebook and tags me in pics of the weekend, just like that.
Now random people from work/college/high school can see me at my slobbiest.
I know you can easily un-tag a photo, but it just seems like a rude thing to do.
Am I being ridiculous with my irked-ness?
ETA: I say it below, but wanted to put this in the original post so I dont seem TOOOOO whiney  but Facebook is blocked at work and I rarely get on the internet at home. So I can't simply untag it until later tonight.

my friends are big on facebook and if they asked before tagging pictures it would be an all day thing -- they constantly are putting pictures up
i think your situation is a little different because of the circumstances, but just ask them to take them down or untag
there were a few pictures i didnt want up on facebook period (didnt want to just untag) so i explained to my friend that i didnt want them out on the internet and she took them down or cropped me out of them

That is why I never tag anyone.
You know what- if they wanted the picture up, they would post it themselves.
People are very sensitive and hyper critical about pictures of themselves (myself included!) so I just don't go there...

its basically "labeling" the photo that your're in. when somebody posts a picture on their page they can input the names of people who are in the pic with them. if you have a facebook account, it then links that photo on YOUR page, too. SO if your friend puts an ugly pic of you up on their page and tags you in it, the ugly pic will be on your page, too...

Ah, thank you for explaining it for me! This hasn't happened to me yet, but it would definitely irk me... there are way to many bad pictures of me out there and I would not want everyone to be able to see them!!

It honestly never phased me, and I am guilty of tagging photos of friends pretty often. Now that I think about it, maybe it isn't the best idea.

It bothers me a lot
I don't mind if someone puts up a picture that has me in it on Facebook, as long as it stays on their page.
When it shows up on my page, it implies my approval and that i put it up there myself - which i didn't
thats more of what i have an issue with

not really. If I know they are taking pics and I look like crap I make a joke out of it and say this better not be on myspace or facebook later.
but this is why I rarely tag anyone.

only if it's a bad picture and if it's someone I don't know very well, like an acquaintance. Someone posted pictures of me in nursery school and she was someone I went to nursery school with but I don't know her very well anymore and I found it a little strange. I untag myself often.

I don't care if people tag me - trust me there are a lot of bad ones up there too  I find it funny
I have had one person ask me to untag her from all the photos in an album - I thought that was was weird.
