Does powerwashing help?
We bought our house last year, I don't think its been washed in almost 50 years! Its a white house shingles - will we see a difference if we powerwash in the spring?

we powerwashed our ugly gray almost white siding last year and alot came off... it definitely looked better, but its seems to get dirty again pretty quick. I assume its something we will do every spring!

YES! DH powerwashed our house and garage over the summer.......the difference was AMAZING!

What is your siding made of? If it is vinyl or aluminum, then yes it will help. If it is wood and its is old, It can take the paint off and even break apart the wood if there is rot.

Oh no! It is wood shingles! We can't get new siding for another year at least(need to save $) - but its horrible and rather than painting it I was hoping we could powerwash.

On vinal siding yes. Dh moms house has cedar shingles in the front. She had painted the years ago. Dh powerwashed the house all the paint chipped off. Looked worse then before. She had the house sided after that.

It pays sometimes to have a pro do it...your siding/roof/etc has to be in good condition, and you can't do it often, from what I hear.
We did it on our roof and it was amazing.
I will be doing it on our siding come spring.
Also, be sure they or whoever does it, uses the proper chemicals.
