does this sound weird to you?
I have a friend who went for her prenatal check up and her doctor told her "in 2-3 days her baby will be "complete" and if he was born now he'd make it, but to try and hold off until she's 32 weeks". She's 25 weeks. Is this even true..and if so why would he tell her that? That would freak me out.

Well, 24 weeks is considered "viable," that if the baby is born at that time, it is not certain death, there is a chance of survival, however at that point there is a very high chance of complications. ANd why would he say 32 weeks, thats still early? I am on bedrest now and almost 32 weeks, my drs. don't want the babies born yet, although if they were they would most likely be ok with a stay in the NICU.

mayb ehe meant if the baby chose to come at this time, the survival rate is much higher than if they had come earlier.

Maybe her friend was really stressed out and telling her this the doctor felt made her more calm.

Re: does this sound weird to you?
Does her doctors have reasons to believe she may go early, is she pregnant with twins, does she have issues with her cervix??

No, and no. I just spoke with her and she told me they asked him because they think they may lose him.
