Does your child have any food allergies?

So, my two year old son was just diagnosed as "highly allergic" to peanuts, moderately allergic to tree nuts and eggs and mildly allergic to milk, soy, and wheat. So yeah, I've got to pick up my Epi Pen tomorrow for the peanut deal. We already knew about the eggs, suspected something about peanuts, and he has eczema. My two DDs have no allergies.

I'm not freaking out or anything, but it does seem nuts (Hahahahaha!!! Get it?! Get it?! ) nowadays with all of these kids having allergies. So I was just wondering what the average among LIF families was...

DS is highly allergic to soy protein and soy flour.. He was tested in November. He is 3. I suspect he has a lot of food intolerance issues too. Peanuts being one of them!! \
He had a milk protein and soy allergy from birth. He out grew the milk allergy by 15 months. He is a little intolerant to dairy if he has too much but no dairy allergy.

Knock on wood... so far so good. 3 kids zero allergies.. but I know that can change. DH developed some food allergies in his late teens/early adulthood.

Mildly allergic to peanuts and almonds.

Also has allergy to Trees, grass and dust.

Never got him tested for a milk allergy

Well DD#1 is allergic to milk, chocolate, shellfish (specfically shrimp and crab but we avoid all shellfish), oranges and strawberries.

DD#2 we suspect has one had a hives experience but she only tested positive for some enviornmental allergies. We didn't want to torture her with more testing aside from the majors so we held off but prepared with meds in case it happens again.

I was allergic to mustard, goats milk and coconut growing up and DH is allergic to crab, my father is allergic to strawberries so no surprise I guess that they have something.

DS is allergic to eggs, shellfish and dogs
DD #1 is allergic to eggs, dairy and sesame
DD#2 is only allergic to eggs as of now.

Yes, one son is highly allergic to peanuts, tree nuts, and shellfish.

DS1 is allergic to dairy. He also used to be very allergic to eggs, but he outgrew it by his 2nd birthday (he's 3 now.). His blood work shows his dairy allergy is improving, but he still fails his food challenges with pretty bad reactions. We're hoping he'll outgrow it in the next few years.

I used to have a VERY bad dairy allergy myself, but it actually improved when I had him. My dr. said the pregnancy changed my body somehow so I'll take it I still can't eat a few things or large amounts of dairy in one day or I'll have a mild reaction (hives, asthma, etc.), but I'm able to easily monitor it.

My son is allergic to bananas. After I delivered him I developed banana, kiwi, avacado, latex, and codine allergies.

My son is allergic to eggs and peanuts.

It is crazy how there are so many allergies now.

i voted for 1 bec that is the only one he has had a reaction to (peanuts) so we carry an epipen..

but he also was tested positive for
Class 2 - Maple
Class 2 - Oak
Class 3 - Peanuts
Class 2 - Eggs
Class 2 - Beef
Class 2 - Soy beans
Class 2 - Corn
Class 3 - Wheat
Class 2 - Milk


so i freaked out in the beginning when this came back bec I told him that DS eats most of this stuff everyday...

and they said often those test have false positives with a kid with allergies and the only sure fire way to know is with the reaction...so he continues to eat the above and he stays away from nuts!

DD is allergic to 4 different tree nuts, but not almonds. Still need to avoid all, but can have things from almond only facilities.
