Does your DH get work related calls at home?

DH's work cell phone rings every %$#* weekend. I can't STAND it he is SO not compensated properly!!

I know- I was annoyed

when does it end?

he comes home at 9pm- with files- gets phone calls from the people who work for him at all hours

and clients-

if it's not that- it's UFC!

fortunately no....he works annoying hours but when hes home, hes home with no more work to do

what REALLY makes me so damn mad is when his boss (the company owner) calls him over the summer from his boat and asks DH to do stuff that he could have done himself if he was home

Yes, and if you know his line of business, its absolutely not called for. He is not a mechanic and can't diagnose your car over the phone.

Yes, he does. The worst ones are clients at 7:30AM. They HAVE his cell #.

Unless there is big news on a company or sector he covers they generally don't call us at home, but he gets A LOT of emails on his Blackberry which he's expected to respond to relatively quickly.

They do require he leave a contact number when we go on vacation and they usually call at least once a day. Plus he usually has to call into meetings at least once a day when he's off. I used to get annoyed but I'm resigned to it now.

YES! Since he uses his cell phone for business. At night after work and on the weekends - its fun!

No. Only one from a client, on his cell phone, in the years I've known him.

As a teacher, I got a few at home from parents now my number is unlisted even on our faculty "emergency" list. I only give it to my friends and the person who is supposed to call me. Too many moms worked in the district and have access to the phone list.

Yes...every day of the year and at all hours.

He deals with folks in Asia, so it's no uncommon for us to get phone calls at 1-3am.

I've learned to accept it, since those phone calls help pay our mortgage.

Yes he does at like 9AM I dont care because I'm up..He is still sleeping.

DH used to work for Symbol, and every night he would get paged with a "major problem" When he interviewed for his current job (ADP) that was the first thing i asked "any pagers" NO thank god, the paged him when we were in Aruba??

YESSSS!!! Uhhhhh...it is sooo annoying. He gets calls at 11pm during the week and constantly on the weekend.

yes...and he even gets calls in the middle of the night....thats why the phone was moved to his side of the bed!!

mostly emails but not too bad. We both have weekend business sometimes..we have to respond.

If he is not compensated for being "on call" then he needs to speak up!

Oh yeah...ALL the time, except for Sunday's because the dealership is closed. His days off are Sundays & Fridays. I've stopped considering Friday's his day off because 90% of the time he has to go in for a delivery for a couple of hours....but it's the nature of the job, I guess.
