Does your family keep things from each other?
Examples...I was in a car accident(over the summer)...we could not under any circumstances tell my Grandmother
My mom is having surgery before Easter we cannot tell my Grandmother so my mother is going to say she has a stomach virus
And things have also been kept from me...so I wouldn't get upset but I get more upset when I find out that I was kept out of the loop

Are we related? Sound exactly like my family; there's always something going on that has to be kept from someone as to not upset them. I hate when they do it to me because as you said, I get very angry when I find out.

that's what cracks me up about my family; there are things that should be shared and they keep it secret, meanwhile, the most embarrassing, personal stuff gets put on blast the minute it happens.

My parents, brother and I keep a fair share from my extended family.

Yup...my family hides alot from my Grandma. Their philosophy is, "She's 84...will knowing this information make her life any fuller. Why upset her?"
I don't know if I fully agree, but there are some things she probably wouldn't understand, so we don't mention it in front of her.

My family doesn't.
DH's family does, and it's really problematic, sometimes they tell each other different versions of stories so it's tough to keep who knows what straight. I think it's childish to be honest, we're all adults.

all the time - it is soooo annoying - my mom had a hysterectomy last year and originally we were not allowed to tell anyone, then when our extended family found out they were so upset
Im an open book so I cant understand why they are so secretive about stuff

Same here. I respect keeping things to yourself, but it drives me crazy finding out from other people, rather than your family first hand

My dad & stepmother do that to me. Things were always kept from me to keep me from getting upset when I was young because I would have seizures when I got upset. Even now that I am very much an adult & haven't had a seizure in 7 years they still haven't changed. Still keep things from me

A certain family member was married before they were married to their current spouse. There are entire pages torn out of various family photo albums so that the person's kids don't find out. What is the big deal? There were no kids from the first marriage. I suspect that the kids know but they play along like they don't!!!!

Not in my family but DH's family you would think they were hiding the gold in Fort Knox. EVERYTHING is a secret from everyone. SIL is PG and we cant tell any family members, why you ask well here is the answer I got " They dont need to know" .

My family doesn't, we are open.
DH's family on the other hand is the complete opposite! They keep everything from one another & then if it is something we are "suppose" to know, we are ALWAYS the last to find out! I don't get it!!!
