Does your toddlers furniture "match?"
In her baby room everything was dark wood, so it all pretty much matched.
But we are using a hand-me-down bed frame from BIL in her new big girl room and the furniture will not match.
It kinda bothers me. I know she won't care, but I always wanted her to have such a perfect room.

DS's does not match - we have a hand me down headboard from my brother. At first it bothered me but DS could care less. He loves this headboard because it has a secret hiding place it was his Uncle Mikes. All DS is interest in are the super hero accessories.

Nope- never has. The ONLY pieces that coordinate are the crib & changing table, which are cherry finish. There are 2 dressers that are totally different finishes and styles all together

Re: Does your toddlers furniture "match?"
We got nursery furniture that he would be able to use as he grows up, so yes it does match. I figured I'd spend the money once and he would have the furniture until he moved out (and could take it with him if he wanted! )

Could you paint the bed frame? Cover the headboard in fabric? I dont think furniture ever has to completely match, but I understand your wanting the finishes to be uniform. Maybe you can make her bed a princess bed (or whatever theme you like) and paint it pink or something?

Ditto. We may get them an extra desk, bookcase, nightstand, etc. Those won't match exactly, but I'm not stressing about it. As long as it's functional and looks decent, I'm happy.

I think this is a great idea. I wouldn't go out and spend money for brand new stuff just to have it all match but I would also like it to coordinate. My DD's dresser is painted and it matched the rest of the furniture much better than if I left it unpainted. Done right on wood, painted furniture can look so good. The love the idea of the fabric covered headboard. It's so easy with a staple or nail gun and you have so many choices with fun fabric.
