Dog allergies
My dog's allergies are the worst they've ever been. We took him for his yearly 2 weeks ago and the vet said to give him benadryl. He's licking his paws raw The vet is giving us a spray to use too. I also wipe his paws with warm water on a paper towel. Anything else I can try to make him stop the licking?

Re: Dog allergies
I hear allergies are really bad this year. When I brought my dog in after giving him benadryl (childrens) and a hydrocortizone spray the vet he gave me an oral RX which I had to give him 2x a day for 5 days. It helped. I can't remember the name tho, sorry. Maybe try fish oil?

I called the vet and they gave us a pill for the inflamation for 5 days plus a spray. So far it's working and he's not licking or biting his paws.

Re: Dog allergies
Riker has been extra itchy this fall too and no, there are no fleas. I check him daily. Very dry sking though and itchy. I gave him benadryl for about 3 nights in a row and he is scratching a lot less now.
