Dog eating Floor
for the past week, our 1year old cava-poo has been eating the lineoleum (sp) floor. She has made such a mess that we have to find replacement floor.
we have scolded and corrected her numerous times and nothing is working.
Does anyone please have any suggestions? She has never eaten things like this and i feel like she is acting out.
she is not home alone for more than 5 hours at a time.
Thank you in advance!

Re: Dog eating Floor
Are you crating her? Have you ever crated her? At one, she is still young, I crated my dogs until about 1.5 yrs old, when we could not be home. The only way to protect your house (and the pup!) from a puppy's normal teething puppy behavior is to crate training when not home.
Also she could be bored. Do you guys walk her enough, exercise her enough? Behaviors such as this are either age related or boredom related. For ex, my dogs ate my wall and my cabinets one day out of no where at around 2.5 yrs old! They were bored and feeling very energetic, and I had to leave quickly without giving them some exercise. And my cabinets paid the price! So I only blame myself. What I did was I just stopped letting them go in my kitchen for a few mths, to break the habit and they are never allowed alone in there when we are not home just in case.

could be boredom. I will try the extra exercise routine, maybe that will help. Thank you!

Re: Dog eating Floor
Does she have a Kong? We give Katie a kong filled with treats or stuffing before we leave the house- it helps a lot.
