Dog Eating Poop ?
Has anyone ever tried using a supplement and did it work?
I know there are a few on the market that you can just put in the food or give to them orally

Re: Dog Eating Poop ?
We had this problem with our puppy the first few weeks we had him. We used Deter and Forbid, but also were OCD about cleaning up after him. Supposedly making sure there isn't any laying around for him to dine on is the best way to prevent it, but he was going right for it after he pooped so we felt the need to use a pill.
We eventually just started using Accent (a meat tenderizer) after a few weeks, and stopped that after a few more week, and haven't had a problem since then. Now other animals feces ... that's a different story, ugh!
Good luck!

Re: Dog Eating Poop ?
ugh ollie does that and it is nasty! We got a supplement from the vet and it doesn't work, she still goes after her poop. I was watching animal planet and one of the trainers says to put crushed pineapple in the food because it makes their poop not taste good. I haven't gotten a chance to pick up pineapple but if you try it, let me know how it works!

Re: Dog Eating Poop ?
When Leo was a pup [less than 1 yrs old] I gave him a supplement that I bought from Petco to stop his poop fetish. It did nothing!! I took him off since it wasn't working and he was chompin away regardless. Now Leo is almost 5 years old and still does it!!
Sometimes I miss some poop in the backyard and he gets to it. When I mentioned it to the vet a month or so ago, he said that from a behavioral point of view, Leo sees himself as lowest on the food chain in our family, and to help from other animals hurting us, he makes sure he is eating the evidence of him living at our house... as if to say, if other animals came into our yard, they would know by his poop being there that he was there and possibly others! He's protecting his family in his own little way!
Sounds pretty noble to me, but it is still gross to say the least. I plan on having a trainer come to our house in August [since I think Leo is going to have major issues when I give birth in Oct] and I will ask him what he thinks and if he has any suggestions. I will update if I get any good info!
