Dog throwing up?
So I have noticed when I let Lexy out in the morning she eats grass and ends up throwing up. Of course I go and inspect the throw up and it is either yellow bile or just foam with grass in it. She has thrown up here and there in the past but no patterns or reason and it was on a rare occasion. I just figured she wasn't feeling well, but now I feel like it is more often...several times a week for the past month. Should I be concerned? She is still eating her food and drinking water and I have not switched her dog food. We were at the vet 3 weeks ago for her annual check up and vaccanations and he said all was fine. Does anyone have any experience with this and/or advice on how to ease her tummy? Thankfully she is not getting sick in the house, only outside and in the same area of the yard. Very bizarre!

Re: Dog throwing up?
i'm not 100% sure about this, but i'm pretty sure the vomiting is a result of eating the grass. maybe try keeping the dog from eating the grass and see if the vomiting stops? sorry i can't be of more help...

Re: Dog throwing up?
You are probably right...I was told that she eats the grass because her tummy hurts and then in turn she throws up. I guess I have to figure out why she is eating the grass. Maybe she enjoys it... Who knows!! I usually let her out in the morning to wander and hang out in the yard. I will have to watch her carefully from now on! Thank you!

Re: Dog throwing up?
My dog has a sensitive stomach and throws up a lot too. It's usually in the morning when she hasn't eaten anything in a while and its foam or bile. The vet said to make sure she eats something before bed and try to get her to eat first thing in the morning. Now the only time she gets sick is if we forget to do that! We leave her food out all day, but she only likes to eat when we are eating.

This is EXACTLY my experience.. She throws up on an empty stomach.. Its bile... I sware this is the answer to why its happening!

Re: Dog throwing up?
Brody does it alot. When I see him grazing on my grass, I know he is going to puke. He will eat, then sit down and throw right up. I think when they have an upset belly they do it to clean their system out.

Re: Dog throwing up?
I appreciate everything everyone has had to offer me in their own experiences. You are all probably right. I just made sure there was food in her bowl and gave her a few treats. Hopefully this will subside. Thanks so much! I feel better knowing that this happens to other dogs too!
