Re: Dogs and Working 9-5
When my pooch was a puppy, she was crated when I worked and someone let her out every couple of hours. She is now a year and a half. She had free reign, and is alone for about nine hours, but someone comes to let her out once her during that time, so it is not more than maybe five hours. She is a big dog, and has gone up to eight hours alone.

Re: Dogs and Working 9-5
Katie is home alone from when I leave (7:30) until DH gets home between 3 and 330.
I work really close to home, but I only get a 30 minute lunch, so I wouldn't have enough time to come home and let her out.
She's fine though - she always gets a long walk as soon as we get home. She gets free range of the house.

Re: Dogs and Working 9-5
Cha-Chi is home alone from 9-5. We allow him to walk around the first floor of our home, it was hard at first but he has gotten used to it. Our neighbor is retired and has a key to our house, she checks up on him periodically.
