I'd recommend doing a sausage gumbo!
or a cajun chili with corn bread!

Pancakes! It's good luck to eat pancakes on Shrove Tuesday. Maybe you can do crepes with a variety of fillings.. cream cheese and ricotta with raspberry sauce for a sweet type.. mushroom & chicken for savory.

Do you have a recipe for either?
I was going to do the kings cake for dessert. But I like the crepes idea....I've never made then before!

I normally use this recipe, but I use ground turkey instead of pork and usually add a can of red beans. It is also not so traditional or very spicy, so I found two others I will link to that you might want to try instead of this one:
Cajun Chili: 1.5 pounds lean ground pork 1 Tablespoon chili powder 1 Tablespoon ground cumin 4 shakes cayenne pepper sauce (Frank's Red Hot or Tabasco) 1/2 medium yellow onion, chopped 2 cloves garlic, minced 1 rib celery, chopped 1/2 red bell pepper, chopped 1/2 green bell pepper, chopped 1/2 bottle of beer 1 can (14oz) crushed tomatoes
1) Heat a big pot over high heat
2) Add your pork to the pot. Season with chili powder, cumin and cayenne sauce. Brown the meat.
3) Add the onion, garlic, celery, and peppers.
4) Add the beer and stir everything together, scraping the bottom to get the burned bits. Add tomatoes. Bring to a boil and then simmer for 10 minutes.
Here are the other options that I think might be better:
Creole-Style Chili
Hot Cajun Chili
For corn bread, I normally use the jiffy mix
And I don't have the sausage gumbo recipe on me... but I remember my DH really liking this good housekeeping one that I googled. It is a shrimp and sausage gumbo, but since you are already making the cajun shrimp, I figured you could just omit the shrimp aspect and make it solely a sausage gumbo... or just have even more shrimp LOL. Oh yeah, and when I made it, I omitted the Okra. I don't love gumbo but it is hard to resist the sausage, tomatoes and rice and all the spices.
(Shrimp) and Sausage Gumbo!
