Dormering

Would fully dormering a house that's already half dormered be cheaper because one side is done?

It depends...are you happy with the partial dormer or would you need to demo some of it? If you are just adding on, it would probably be cheaper. Something to consider, would adding on to the dormer make the layout awkward? I was considering buying a house that had a small dormer and adding on to it but it turned out that we would have to demo a lot of the existing dormer b/c you wouldn't be able to access the new rooms added on, the layout was awkward.
