A friend of DHs actually inquired with them about opening one on LI and they said it would never happen..........their business model is to set up shop primarily right on or right off of interstate highways. They told him LI really would not fit their needs. 
This is exactly what we were told by one of our servers at a recent visit. Totally sucks.
CB would do awesome on L.I.
I'm excited for DQ. Love their ice cream.
I've never had Chick Fil A. Is there a huge difference between them and all the other fast food places around?
I'd rather DQ!

As for Chick-fil-A, their chicken, IMO, is awesome! They have nuggets, strips, filet and all are pure white meat chicken breast. You cannot compare them to any other FF chain.
My DH will be happy to hear about Longhorn!

Their RE requirements are to be near an interstate. I personally have not seen any CB's not near an interstate. A lot of them are on I-95 or just off.

Seriously Longhorn? haha I haven't even been to the one HERE!
DQ tho is a CLASSIC! I just had an argument with the hubby because the ads here on TV say "DQ, That's what I like about Texas" but I SWORE i had seen them up north. I can't wait to tell him this! LOL
And of course Sonic I LOVE and they didnt open in LI until AFTER I left and now CFA too. Its like all that I missed in food is now in NY.
I haven't seen a Steak N Shake in a long time or a waffle house either. Im sure they are here I just dont see them on my side.
Then again we dont see any burger kings here either. There's one on my side of town. And only one dunkin donuts in the whole town!! I miss DD  ... munckins and a medium coffee light and sweet. I make due with the occasional K cup instead.
ETA: I googled it... there are 5 DDs in 420 plus square miles of city (without the outlying suburbs etc) and 1M people. NOT ENOUGH! 
Dozens and dozens of Sonic though! and over 30 DQ but DQ is sorta a landmark here. its either before you get to.... just past... to the left of... or the right of... DQ LOL

Yep, this. They are ALWAYS right on the highway and literally right off the highway.
DH's friend was dead serious about opening a CB here, he didn't ask a random person who worked there......he was dealing with corporate and their franchise dept. and that is what their response was. While I think they would make a killing here too, LI does NOT fit their business model and they told him they won't bend on that.

I freaking love Steak and Shake! When I was in college in Chicago, we used to drive to Indiana to get S &S all the time. Where else can you get a fancy cup with a divider to hold two types of milkshake...IN THE SAME CUP!
DQ is eh to me, so I don't really care about one opening here, but S&S I could get down with.

This place doesn't impress me at all.
Yes, but it will only be a temporary torture as far as traffic. After the hoopla dies down it will be normal again.

Haha this might jsut get us to finally get to All American.. burger followed by a Blizzard. I grew up w/it "upstate" and miss is like crazy. It is a midwest restaurant to me, not a Southern one!
If only we could get a Culver's!!
BTW, morningcuppacoffee, the sonic didn't cause traffic havoc for too long, so it might inconvenience you at first but I doubt that traffic will change that much in the long run.

I just looked it up & I grew up around there, I don't even know where this deli was.
Longhorn steakhouse location
I just passed it today. It seems to be the lot next to Pet Den, 7-11, shopping center.

I take my kids to the play area there. I'm almost certain that its right at the entrance to the food court. Theyre renovating so prob a new location. I could be wrong though.

The rest of their food is gross but this is exactly what I am thinking!!! I will be sending DH on Blizzard runs!!
And just IMO a building with a store/ff chain/restaurant/business in it is better than an abandoned building just sitting there falling apart!

My Mom is very excited, she loves DQ. She said she is going to plan weekly trips to Massapequa from eastern Suffolk...and I believe her! 
She said LI used to have them but they all went out.
