Dr. appt. good and bad news
I am about 30 weeks and had a 3d sono today. Got some amazing pics, baby is looking great and growing perfectly!!
I was also told I have protein in my urine. Now I am freaking out. They are sending it out to find out more. I am terrified that it has something to do with kidney damage. They don't think it's preclampsia. No high bp or swelling. Anyone have experience with this?

I had protein in my urine 3 times during the pregnancy. The doctors weren't concerned at all b/c my BP wasn't high. They said they only get concerned if it's consistently high on a few visits and it never was- it was high one day and then again like 3 appointments later. They said if that's the case it can simply be caused by something you ate and is no concern.

a coworker told me she had protein in her urine, and it turned out to be a UTI, and they gave her antiobiotcs and she was fine after that! Try not to stress!

Thank you ladies! I thought maybe UTI, had one with DS but I am on antibiotics for something else, so didn't think it would be that. I guess I'll find out soon enough.

with ds i had protein in my urine too and my dr wasnt concerned bc i didnt have swelling and my bp was on normal. he did explain that the tests they run in office checks for protein but not specific proteins in the urine. if there is discharge present that shows up as protein in the urine.
