Good and bad news..
We saw 2 sacs last week, and today there was only one But the good news is, the baby is measuring at 6 weeks, heart rate was 113bpm (the doctor said that was a good rate - does it sound good)? It was amazing to see and hear.
If anyone else has gone through "vanishing twin" - do you know if it affects the remaining baby?

Re: Good and bad news..
My friends sister at first sono saw two sacs and they told her b/c she was invetroed that vanishing twin may happen. A few weeks later they did another sono and they were right. The baby they did see is strong and healthy and no effects from the twin being vanished. The mothers body absorbes the vanished twin and the remaining twin will be okay.
eta: just wanted to send some.

Re: Good and bad news..
At the very beginning, I actually had triplets, but the doc told me right away that one of them didn't look like he/she would make it......he was right, I'm having twins....

Re: Good and bad news..
My SIL had the "remains" of the vanishing twin...
My niece is just fine, and my SIL had a wonderful pregnancy.

Re: Good and bad news..
I had a vanishing twin (after seeing two heartbeats). I'm now 32 weeks pregnant, and my little girl is doing great! There are no affects to the surviving baby with a vanishing twin.
