Dr. B girls - GHI - Updated below with much relief!
Does anyone know as of when Dr. B's office stopped taking GHI? I just got a settlement from GHI for services rendered on 3/22. I had never been informed that Dr. B's office was not taking GHI, and didn't find out until someone posted it here. They were still taking my in-network copay through my IUIs on 3/31 and 4/1. I am just concerned about what I will owe for appointments from March forward.
Does anyone know if they plan on starting to take GHI again? I know someone mentioned that he was reapplying to some of the companies. If not, I will have to change doctors, because it's going to be too expensive out-of-network. I want to move forward with IVF next, and I have no IVF coverage anyhow, but even the office visits will be a lot more out-of-network
ETA: See my post below for Dr. B's response. Anyone else with concerns should definitely talk to him directly.

Re: Dr. B girls - GHI
Jackie, i have similar issue with UHC. I got a bill dated 3/15 ( even before my IUIs), and also for one apt at the end of april. I talked to dr B himself and he said basically not to worry about them.
Talk to him directly. Kim was not too helpful, by the way. I highly doubt he will actually want any money from you, esp considering that you have been with him for a while.

and it was me who mentioned he was re-applying and re-negotiating. this is what he told me last Tue. I got a strong feeling from him that he will NOT abandon his old patients. Do not forget, he is a very devoted and humaine person

Re: Dr. B girls - GHI
I was told that UHC dropped him the beginning of March but they didnt find out until April. I was also told that my March visit would only be charged to me as an in-network visit.
I haven't seen a bill just the EOB from UHC.

He told me the same last week regarding "old patients."
I know he told me not to worry about anything with United Healthcare.
I'd just ask him personally.

Re: Dr. B girls - GHI
At my last few appointments they were busy in the office and I thought they just forgot to charge me the co-pay! After speaking to Dr. B, he's only asking that I give him the amount I get back from GHI (reimbursement check for out of network) --I actually saved 90 bucks because of no co-pays!
Like curiousO said, he is re-applying with many of his insurances so if I have to go back to him in the future , hopefully he'll have GHI again.

Re: Dr. B girls - GHI
Thanks Ladies. I emailed Dr. B last night, and he also said just to give him the check from GHI with my EOB. He also told me that IVF will be $9250, including all office visits, sonos, etc., since I don't have IVF coverage. I have to wait one full cycle after D&C, so it will be awhile before we get started.

Re: Dr. B girls - GHI
i was wondering the same thing! I went for sono's each week between 3/18 and 4/9...I was charged my in-network copay each time and never told that they are no longer taking GHI. I just started getting all these checks from GHI and notices that Dr. B was out of network from that initial 6w sono on 3/18. grrrr! I am really hoping I don't get stuck paying anything more than what GHI sent me.
