Dr. Brown's users...
Can you reccomend a bottle sterilizer that you use? I was looking online at Babies r Us. In someone's review for one of them it said not to use for Dr. Browns b/c they don't fit. I want to make sure I get one that will fit them. Thanks!

Re: Dr. Brown's users...
I used the avent steam sterilizer, I love it. With the wide-neck 8 oz bottles I had to remove a piece, but it was fine. I LOVE it and still use it for maintenance!
ETA: I religiously sterilized the first 3 months...now I just wash with hot soapy water and sterilize like once a week just to get it really clean. It's just throwing the bottles in, adding water, and hitting a button...and done. Image Attachment(s):

Re: Dr. Brown's users...
I used the Especially for Baby Microwave Sterilizer (BRU brand). It was $12.99 and took only 8 min to sterilize the bottles.

I use the same one, it only takes like 11 minutes start to finish...I would just put them in the dishwasher, but my dishwasher takes like an hour to run so the its easier

Nat, I give Julia juice in the Dr. Brown bottles but I clean then in the dishwasher, then rinse them after. You really dont need a sterilizer. JMO

Re: Dr. Brown's users...
I have the wideneck bottles and sterilized them in my Avent sterilizer from day one. Never had any problems. I was able to fit 4 bottles and their pieces.
I sterilized bottles until he was 4.5 mos old. Now I wash them with soap and hot water with a bottle brush and clean each individual piece with the a smaller brush.

Re: Dr. Brown's users...
We just boiled the bottles and all the parts in a big pot after each use for awhile- it worked well for us. I bought a microwave sterilizer but it was too much trouble so I returned it.

I never sterilized my bottles (except before first time use). I just used the dishwasher on the sani-rinse cycle.

Me too, I sterilize about once a month (although I did it more in the beginning) on the stove.

ETA: Ooh, and I bought the new Clorox Anywhere and you can spray it on bottles and pacifiers. It kills 99.9% of germs. I thought that was pretty neat

Re: Dr. Brown's users...
IMO, a bottle brush to clean them and a huge pot to boil everything at once is the fastest and cheapest way to sterilize.

Dishwasher!
I have a plastic basket that sits on the top of the dishwasher...I throw all the pieces in the basket and the bottles where the cups go.

Re: Dr. Brown's users...
i usually put the parts in one of those little white dishwasher basket and the bottles on the top rack - but sometimes I'll use my avent microwave sterilizer. It's meant for Avent bottles, but the Dr. Brown's will fit and it works fine.
