Driving question

I know when a school bus stops with its red lights flaging, you must stop in all directions.

What is the rule if they have no lights on, but the stop sign is out on the side?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Driving question

never seen a bus like that..if its a school bus, i would believe it would have to have flashing yellow and red lights on the back, front and sometime one the stop sign it self...

Re: Driving question

I would think that as long as the stop sign is out we would have to stop.

Re: Driving question

No, no lights at all, just the stop sign.

a stop sign means stop, no matter what.

the lights flashing are from before the time of the stop sign on the arm.

Re: Driving question

Thanks Heather, we all stopped. Just curious what the law is as far as passing. I know it is law when the lights are flashing red then you have to stop and stay stopped until they turn off. I want to know what the rules are for just a stop sign.

I stayed stopped since I figured the driver either didn't turn them on or they are broken.
