DS actually had a few little sips of water from a sippy cup...
I've given him a few to try. But he just twirls them around. He puts them in his mouth and I do hear him sucking but he's not tilting back his head so therefore he's not really having any sips. So I wanted to see if out of the million sippy cups I have in the house, if one of them had a straw. I found a Mets one that did and he actually took a few sips. I think I like the ones with the straws better so I can actually see that he's having a couple of sips.
This kid gets excited about drinking water...  Everytime we saw that he took a sip DH and I would cheer "yay alright " and we clapped our hands. DS would smile at us and then took another sip and we again cheered...
Of course I am monitoring him right now since he's not a pro at drinking out of a cup.

Yay! 
Our little one prefers the sippy cup w/the straw. As soon as I gave him the cup w/the straw he drank like a champ.
