DS getting hurt at school question??
so my 6 year old got hurt at recess. the door to the school slammed back and the lock slammed him in the face. needless to say we had to take him to the hospital and he needed stitches right above his eye. i just got a bill from the plastic surgeon for $2,500.00!!!!!! he is out of network and we are responsible for the amount the insurance didn't pay. my question is ...since he got hurt at school, is the school responsible for this bill? and if so who do i speak to about this? if we have to pay it we will, but i am just wondering if anyone knows anything about how i go about this?

Im pretty sure the school has a degree of responsibilty for the bill.. I would start by calling the principal & asking how to go about this. GL

I think the school is responsible...def call the principal, and then superintendent's office, if necessary.

school is responsible. Did they fill out an accident form? Did the nurse note it at all in her log?
Go talk to the principal- he/she will guide you in the right direction  So sorry for your DC

Yes school is responsible; an accident report should have been filled out. Bring bills & see principal tomorrow.
