DS had his first round of shots today...
The poor little guy had no idea what hit him. The look of shock on his little face and then the scream he let out when he realized something hurt...it was just heartbreaking. Luckily we'll have a reprieve until he's 4 mos old for the second round of shots.
When we got home, we gave him some Infant Tylenol as our doctor advised. He was so not himself. He's usually a little bit fussy between 7PM and 10PM, when he goes to sleep, but this was completely different. I feel so bad for him. He's sleeping now and hopefully he'll get some rest and not keep waking up.
Thanks for letting me share. I'm just so sad for him.

Re: DS had his first round of shots today...
OMG- I just did this last week. She was all smiles on the exam room table (the kid just loves to be in a diaper only) and then her eyes went all wide followed by the screams. I'm not kidding when I tell you- the look on her face is permanently burned into brain forever (I should've closed my eyes ).
My Dr. let me give her the Tylenol about 1/2 hour before the shots. She was fine afterwards- a little cranks that evening.

That is exactly the same for me. He was looking up at me with such an adorable expression right before the doctor did the shots. I'll never forget the look on his face when the doctor did what he needed to do.
He woke up at 5AM for his bottle, ate about 3/4 of it and went back to sleep. Woke up at 8:30AM, ate not even 3/4 of his bottle and now he's been sleeping for the past 45 mins. He never sleeps this much. Is this normal?

Poor little guy. I wasn't at the 2 month shot appt because I had to work but DH was there and he said it completely killed him to see DS's reaction.
The good news is that the tylenol helps and they are back to their happy selves within 24-48 hours.
Hang in there.

Totally normal for them to sleep like crazy afterwards. DD slept the entire night the evening of her shots.

Re: DS had his first round of shots today...
Thanks everyone. DS is still running a low grade fever which the doctor said could happen. He's trying so hard to be happy and smiling but I can tell he still doesn't feel good. I know it's for his own good but it makes me so sad to see him this way.
