DS keeps vomiting!
I put DS down for his nap this AM only to have him start crying 40 min. later. When I went up to get him, he (and the crib) were COVERED head to toe in vomit He has since vomited 3-4 more times in the course of a half hour. I called my ped who said it's probably a stomach virus and to watch his diapers to make sure he's peeing. What is so weird to me is that before his nap, he was so happy and showed no signs of being sick. He also hasnt been in contact with anyone other than me & DH since Saturday. Can a stomach virus just hit that quickly and where could he have gotten it from?? My poor baby
ETA: Anyone have recommendations/tips for me? This is the first time I'm dealing with a sick baby, I'm covered in vomit, and he just threw up again down my shirt as I was typing this

Re: DS keeps vomiting!
For something like that, I would insist that he be seen. 4 times in such a short period would concern me.
It can hit that quickly though

Re: DS keeps vomiting!
How old is DS?
I would weigh him now so if it does last you can see how much weight he's lost. If he's too small, hold him on the scale, then put him down and weigh just yourself.
I would try small amounts of water or gatorade/pedialite. And for food - bread/toast, rice, applesause and bananas are all binding.

I wouldn't try them yet b/c if he gets sick from them, you won't know if its whatever he has now or the bananas.

Re: DS keeps vomiting!
it can and it does.
The last time DS had a stomach virus, we were at the outlets and he was eating lunch and running around. Half an hour later he threw up all over the Christmas Tree Shoppe out of the blue and then 3 more times in the 15 minutes ride home. Nevermind once we got home.
Hope he feels better!

Completely! I always have them seen. My DD almost ended up hospitalized for a stomach bug so now I always go to the ped. If the vomiting is really bad, they can prescribe Zofran. This is a lifesaver. We now keep it on hand all the time and they get it after the first time they vomit. Makes a stomach virus MUCH easier to handle.
Hang in there

Re: DS keeps vomiting!
Stomach bugs can hit hard and fast. DD#1 got it on our last full night at WDW. She was FINE all day long - then at dinner time she got very cranky then was okay - she insisted on doing a few more rides before we went back to our hotel. She was standing in line at Its a small world - and said Daddy I am having the best time!!! Then suddenly threw up. She had the stomach bug 2 times - the 1st at 18 months - she was laughing and singing in the car then getting sick the next minute - and then her second time was out WDW trip. So you just never know.
Some can start as early as 24-48 hours - but others can take a week to get sick. I hate to say it but there is also the possibility that you or your DH brought it into the house - picked him up before washing your hands or something like that - but maybe you have had it before or you washed before touching your face so you or your DH didn't get sick. Of course maybe you or your DH haven't started to show signs of illness yet either.
Hugs - I hope your DC is feeling better soon - it is miserable to have. I hope no one else catches it
