DS suddenly refusing to eat solids?
My DS is 5 months old and was doing great with eating his solids. He seemed to really enjoy it. He has had oatmeal, carrots, sweet potatoes, and applesauce so far. But for the past week, he is refusing to eat anything except his bottle. he will not open his mouth and if we do get anything in his mouth he spits it back at us.
I know this is just for practice and he does not need to eat solids for nutrition so I am not forcing him to eat it. I am just confused as to why he just suddenly stopped eating.
He also is not sleeping through the night yet. He still gets up to eat at least 1x but most nights he is getting up 2x
Any Advice? TIA!

Re: DS suddenly refusing to eat solids?
it could be two separate issues. when my DS was teething he didn't want to eat at all, it was hard to even get him to drink his bottle.
as for sleeping through the night, if he is getting up to eat, you can try increasing the amount of formula he gets during the day. add an ounce or two to each bottle. that could help. but some babies just are not ready to sleep through the night for a long time

Re: DS suddenly refusing to eat solids?
He is definately teething but the funny thing is today I attempted to give him a piece of my chicken at lunch just to see what he would do, I wasn't going to really give it to him & he opened his mouth nice & wide & got mad when I didn't actually give it to him! Its like he just doesnt want to eat from the spoon any more!!!

Thanks. he refuses to eat more than 6 ounces at a time, sometimes he doesn't even finish that. I know he is definately teething because when we give him the bottle he chews on it for a little bit before he actually drinks it. We also tried him with a sippy cup this weekend with a little bit of water & he loved it & did well but was chewing on that too.

When he opens his mouth for that, could you slip in the spoon or will he spit it out?
