DS throws things
DS throws things when he gets angry or doesn't get his way. We have taken the toys that he throws but he just tries to find something else to throw or slam. He will not sit in time out. He keeps getting up. I know he is looking for attention, but I don't want him to hurt himself, or break something while he is in the moment. Any suggestions?

Re: DS throws things
I put DD in her room and close the door. I stand right outside the door, and when she is calm I take her out and talk to her. It gets better.

Re: DS throws things
I am a huge believer that kids go through some of these stages because they can finally "do" some of these exciting things with their body. Unfortunately, very often they attach it to some negative behavior because it usually causes the most attention from people. Of course I don't know your ds, but taking the negative and turning it into a positive can help him get the "thrill" of throwing out of his system. I would try to play as many throwing games as possible with him. Beanbag, Basketball, Catch, Bowling etc The more he does it in a positive light and receives the attention that way, it may lessen the need to do it when he is frustrated.
