DSL moms - what kind of camera bag do you have?
Now with this huge lens - the camera won't fit in my bag if I have it on.
What bag do you have?
Do you keep the lens on your camera when you are not using it?

I got the Nikon package with my camera-- body, 2 lenses, bag. I would definitely splurge on a nice quality bag that will hold both lenses.
Which lens did you get?
Oh, and yes, I keep a lens on the body all the time.

Re: DSL moms - what kind of camera bag do you have?
He got me two lenses - I think it was some sort of package.
They are both Sigma lenses - which are compatible with Canon cameras.
The first is 28-70mm The second is 70-300mm
I want to get a huge case so that I can fit it all in one.
Do you think the fact that it's not a Canon lens would have anything to do with the quality of the picture? I am going to call Ritz camera in the morning but just wanted some other opinions.
Also - which lens would you keep on at all times? The one I have no is 18-55

That's awesome, those lenses should be fun! What a nice DH! Yeah, 1 case to fit everything would be ideal, IMO. That way it's all together, not forgetting any lenses and all are protected.
Hmm...sorry, I have no clue about the quality of the lenses, but Ritz should DEFINITELY be able to help you, they give great advice-- call the actual store (the Carle Place one is awesome), not their website #.
I go in stages of which one I keep on all the time...pretty much depends on what I was last photographing. For instance, we were outside yesterday, so I had on the 55-200 lens since she goes all over the yard...and that one was still on when I went to take pics of her in the recliner...so I just had to back up further in the house to get the shot w/o switching the lens.
I do love the 55-200 lens, so that's mainly on I guess, but it really just depends what I took pics of last, you know? They're soooo easy to switch, which is good.
And a 70-300? WOW, those are going to be awesome pics

No advice on a bag, but wanted to tell you I am getting the 70-300mm Sigma for Christmas! I guess I'll be in the market for a new bag too! Did you try the lens yet? The close ups are so cool! I snuck it onto my camera while DH was at work..

I did try it this morning but we were lazy all day so I didn't try to get any good shots!
I may give it a real try tomorrow!
I'm just excited because I couldn't justify spending all that money on a Canon lens - but for this price it was a steal!

Re: DSL moms - what kind of camera bag do you have?
I have two bags.
One Lowerpro (with room for lenses) and one cheapie bag for the times I only need one lens.
And now that you've all gotten me the ONE lens I need...I use that the most.
Go for the Lowerpro bags. You'll get used to carrying it around soon enough. I usually stick my wallet in it since I am always very conscious of where my camera is.

Re: DSL moms - what kind of camera bag do you have?
I have a Nikon Bag with inside compartments that are velcroed and I can reconfigurate and remove the separation.
I have a cheap "soft" case for the camera/lens for on the go and I don't want to take my camera bag.
