DSLR moms and Disney
If you went to Disney, did you drag around your DSLR? What did you do with it when you were on the rides? I assume you brought it on them with you?
I really want to bring it but I'm afraid of it getting damaged or stolen. Any experiences or thoughts?

I brought mine and had it in a bag that came on every ride with me. No problems at all

Re: DSLR moms and Disney
I left mine at home. I'm notorious for losing stuff and didn't want to risk it. Although I wish I had because there were so many times I thought how much better a pic would have came out with it. I bought my old Canon camera.

Re: DSLR moms and Disney
I've been lugging mine around for ages now. WHile I haven't been to Disney, I've been to amusement parks & fairs with it. I go on the rides with it or have someone hold it.

I brought mine.
I took tons of pictures. I kept it in the camera bag in the bottom of the stroller.
The only thing I wish I would have done was give DH a tutorial on it before we went.
There aren't many good pictures of me and DS.

Same, or I made dh carry it. It is a pain to lug but refused to be without it. I hung it on the back of the stroller, but took it with me when the stroller was parked.

Re: DSLR moms and Disney
I didn't bring it b.c I didn't want to carry it around since I was already chasing and carrying a 15 month old. I brought a small point and shoot and DH had the video camera- and I used Disney's photopass as much as I could - which is honestly much better than taking your own photos at times b.c you can get family photos which is much harder if you want to use your own camera since you have to ask someone to take your photo.
If you decide to use photo pass USE it as much as you can. They are all over the place - esp at character meet and greets as well as all over the parks. The pictures themselves are expensive to buy but you can prepurchase a CD and you can get all your photos put on it (we had well over 150) for 1 price and they give you the copyright so that you can go and have them printed anywhere (shutterfly, local store etc) yourself. The CD is about $99 in advance ($125 when you get home) or about $12-15 for a single print.
Etd to add just make sure you don't leave it in your stroller - although it is disney - people do steal things from strollers on occasion so I wouldn't leave anything of value behind.

I didn't bring it. I was way too nervous. I brought my smaller digital and then got the photopass and all my pictures turned out just fine.

Re: DSLR moms and Disney
I have a point and shoot that I bring for things like this. Not only don't I want to drag around my SLR, but I don't want to be worried about it getting damaged, lost, or stolen.
