Dumb question about being sick and getting H1N1 vaccine
Madison has had colds on and off for a month...she cleared up for about 4 days last week and I was all ready to get her the vaccine, and now she has a really runny nose again. I can't vaccinate her in this condition, right? I just feel like she always has a runny nose and congestion lately. I feel really torn - I don't want to get her vaccinated while she is sick, but she goes to preschool and the chances of her picking up the swine flu are increased. And we leave for a trip to PA and then Florida this Friday...ugh! What to do?

The common cold is fine. As long as there is no fever for a couple of days before, she can get the shot.

My Dr always says as long as they don't have a fever they can get vaccinated. I still don't vaccinate whne they are sick tho which is why they still don'trt have their 6 month shots and will be 1 next week

Really? It still worries me though...I don't want her immune system compromised for any reason....

My DD has a cold now and had the H1N1 shot yesterday. Dr. said as long as there is no fever, its fine.
