Dumb question- what do I need to change my name at DMV?
I am way behind on doing this- I already did social security and I put off DMV for so long because they make you take a new picture for a name change...
Is my current license , ss card with my new name, and marriage cert enough?

And is there a massapequa DMV? Their site says yes but my cousin lives in massapequa says no...? If not which DMV is better, bethpAge or garden city?

That should be enough, but I'd recommend double-checking it here: NYS DMV Name Change
I was just at the one in Massapequa yesterday. Just in case you're not familiar w/the shopping center (like I wasn't), it's in the corner of the "L" shaped building - to the right of Home Goods & by the entrance to a gym (they may even share the entrance). I saw the sign for the gym & somehow managed to miss the DMV sign a few times lol

When i changed my name I brought my marriage cert and I think I had my new SS card by then.
I went to the one in Massapequa....its on Carmens Rd in the Shopping certer. get there early if possible. I always went 1/2 hr before they opened to stand in line.

Took my SS card and name change court order.. they only asked for the SS card.

I just changed my name last month. I brought my new ss card and marriage certificate. They will take a new picture...ughhh.
Also, if your vehicle is registered in your maiden name, you will need to have that changed as well. You need to bring the title (if it's not a lease).

Ooooo good to know, does it matter that the title is also in my maiden? This is such a pitaaaaaa which is why I've put it off for 2 years! Lol
