I have had it done few times, it worked for me and I liked the way it felt, I don't think I would even attempt doing it myself .

Where did you get it done?

I had it done a few months ago and was nervous at first but will def do it again. And it is definitely taking the wax out of your ear. You can see the candle ash and the wax, they are two different things. It was very freaky at first but then you get over the fact that you have a burning cone sucking wax out of your ear! Chat Icon

This whole thread is making me twitchy.

I agree...does it hurt??

No, not at all! You actually don't feel a thing.

I've done it and was really happy with the results! I've always had problems with my ears, and it was pretty fascinating (in a gross kind of way) the amount of stuff that comes out of your ears! (i had a lot of infection that showed up in the candle)

My sister and I have done it on each other in the past....the ear cone is long, and as long as you continually check on it - you should be OK.

This thread makes me want to do it again!

Well I think you and I and are sisters should have ourselves a little party and do it to each other!

I have always wanted to do this. DH asked at the ENT once and they told him they did not do it unless there was a medical reason to???

YES! Ear candling party!

I would not get this done. From what I've read, it doesn't do anything and you could hurt your ear.

This article outlines the dangers.

Tried once, didn't work. However, I looooooved the ENT doctor's vacuum! I swear, I heard new speakers in the car!
