I would wait for her to ask for them. My mom took me to get mine done for my 16th birthday, it is a great memory of a nice day that just the two of us spent together.

I would wait for her to ask, as I did. I went for my 13th birthday and it was a rite of passage I will always remember...I think I appreciate it more because the choice was mine to make.

I don't see anything wrong with it, and I think the the sooner the better to get them done when the baby is an infant cause they don't know where there ears are yet, so they wont play with them and get them infected.
I got my DD's done at 3 months! No problems!

I picked other cause we decided we will let DD decide when she wants to get them
Us too.
Although I have no problem with anyone else piercing ther daughters ears, its just not for me.

I don't see anything wrong with it... I had my ears pierced when I was a baby. I always thought it was odd when girls at school didn't have theirs pierced and had to wait til they were a certain age.

I don't think I would do it, but I don't see anything wrong with it. I've seen baby girls with their ears pierced and it's really cute!
I still remember when I was about 9 and my parents took me and my sis to get our ears pierced... I think i'd want to do something like that with my kids.
I posted other for this reason too.
Mine was a Communion gift and I remember being so excited about it

I'm not morally opposed to it or anything- my mom got mine done when i was a couple of months old (3 months, maybe?). But, DH and i have decided that if we have a daughter (or son), we'll wait until they're old enough to ask for it.

I was on the fence back and forth when Bella was an infant. I didn't get mine until I was 7 years old but that was because there was a lot of us and basically we didn't have much growing up. I decided to go for it...and didn't think it was a huge deal.
We got them when she was 7 months old...I like them a lot on her

I voted other.... I will wait with my daughter so that when she is old enough to want them and take care of them, I will take her to get them.... That's the way it was with me and I want the same for her.
I do think little girls with their ears pierced are so cute though!

I wanted to do it so badly with my daughter but my ped talked us out of it. Being first time parents we listened. Now looking back I think it was more that she didn't want to do it. Now that DD is over 2 I won't do it to her now because she will be aware so I will wait until she is old enough to want them herself.

My mom waited until I asked for my ears to be pierced. I think I was about 4 or 5. I guess I squirmed so much that now the holes in my ears are crooked!

I am not opposed to people getting their DDs ears pierced as babies though, to each his own.

I was a thumb sucker for too many years. I was told that only big girls get their ears pierced and if I wanted pierced ears, I had to stop sucking my thumb. Well I did (briefly) and got them pierced when I was 5 or 6 by a doctor. That hurt.
I think I would wait until my daughter asked for it. I guess I look at it as a right of passage.
