EASY Chocolate chip cookie receipe needed
I am looking for an easy chocolate chip cookie receipe. I love to cook and have been told I am an excellent cook, but I am not a fan of baking. Does anyone have a good choclate chip cookie recipe that is easy? ( I am not looking for the Toll house recipe- or the slice and bake kind) - I also would like it if the cookies were on the soft side. TIA!!!!

Re: EASY Chocolate chip cookie receipe needed
I had saved this from another LIF post... they are great DH LOVES them and they stay super soft because of the pudding...
Award Winning SOft Chocolate Chip Cookies ( got the recipe from allrecipes.com in 2001 and they are the only choco chip cookies I make now. They stay soft because of the pudding in the batter)
6 dozen cookies
4 1/2 c all purpose flour 2 teaspoons baking soda 2 cups butter, softened 1 1/2 c packed brown sugar 1/2 c white sugar 2 (3.4 ounce) packages of instant vanilla pudding (you can use chocolat to make chocolate choco chip cookies or any other flavor to get creative and change it up) 4 eggs 2 teaspoons vanilla extract 4 cups semisweek chocolate chips 2 cups chopped walnuts (optional)
preheat oven to 350 sift together flour and baking soda, set aside
in large bowl cream together butter, brown sugar white sugar. beat in the instant pudding mix until blended. stir in the eggs and vanilla. blend in the flour mixture. finally stir in the choco chips and nuts.
drop cookies by rounded teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets
bake for 10-12 minuts or until golden. edges should be golden brown.
keep in tupperware and they'll stay super soft and chewy for as much as a week and a half.

Re: EASY Chocolate chip cookie receipe needed
chocolate chip cookies are not too difficult to bake... that was actually my starting point with baking (I was once like you, a good cook, but not a baker)
hopefully, the above recipe is perfect for you... if it isn't, I found that you can actually make cookies fluffier by cutting a little bit of butter. The recipe still should work. If you want them softer, I bet you could do the opposite and add a bit extra butter
The main trick to baking cookies and muffins is simple... just don't overwork the dough. After the flour is added, stir just enough to combine. Otherwise gluten develops and things get tough...
Also, for 'insurance', use parchment paper... it prevents sticking, minimizes burning, and makes for easy clean-up.
good luck!

i actually don't think the toll house recipe is too hard, thats the one i use all the time and i get RAVES about my cookies! to keep them soft, i underbake them by just a TINY bit, and i also put them in tupperware while they're still warm.

ITA, I use this recipe all the time and everyone loves them (even when they come out flat as I mentioned in another post).
