EBF Moms re: gasping for air
DS is 7 months old, all yesterday and all today he is having trouble nursing like he takes 2-3 long gulps and unlatches and gasps for air, this goes on continuously I feel helpless b/c I see that he's struggling to nurse but not sure why he's so out of breath all of a sudden. Than he just gets frustrated and is crying, I try to distract him by giving him the other side, it works but the gasping continues until he's frustrated again and cries.
Also, I notice when I feed him solids he'll take a spoonful and it looks like he's holding his breath and than gasp for air again.
Anyone have this happen to them? help for what may be causing this/ how can I help him?

I thought the nursing might be because the milk is flowing too fast but I dont know about the solids. Maybe call your ped to set your mind at ease

I was thinking the same thing. Ty started doing something similar off & on when teething really kicked into high-gear.

yeah his nose is stuffed...running like crazy too
I guess that's it...ughh back to using the nasal aspirator he throws a crying fit with that thing=more boogies and we're back to square 1
