EBF moms...does anyones baby go to sleep without nursing?
I am trying to break the habit.
I guess if your baby is in a childcare enviroment, they are obviously not nursed to sleep for naps..
any advice? I am too late in the game at 9 months?

DS is 12 months and lately he'll be rocked to sleep instead. You could try it for naps first then do it for bedtime

thanks!
sometimes he will just lay down with leo and fall asleep, so I think he can do it...it just with me, he makes me feel used and abused for my body

Most of the time Sabrina is nursed to sleep (usually side lying position) but there have been a few nights when nursing didn't put her to sleep and she fell asleep on her own but usually laying next to me on our bed. It can happen. It might take a little longer but it can happen.

Never too late, I only recently broke that habit since I wanted to stop BF. Once she turned one I decided she was old enough to put herself to sleep. She fought it a few times but now she goes to sleep on her own.

Do you use a pacifier at all? Sometimes I use that to rock DD to sleep instead of nursing her

I tried forever to get him to take a pacifier and he was never interested...he was a lazy baby who wasn't into doing any extra sucking

good to know. I want to help him start breaking from this...I think when weaning time comes he is already going to be heartbroken enough

Re: EBF moms...does anyones baby go to sleep without nursing?
We had to after 5 months since I was the only one who could put her to sleep. That caused problems for DH one night when he had to watch her. It took about a week to get her weaned from falling asleep on the boob. Now she does it without anything- just rocking for a few minutes.

I started popping Asher off when I thought he was falling asleep. It took awhile -- he would cry and protest, but eventually he was fine. I did it to help reduce night waking and it seems to have worked.
